Download Alphabitx

1. Tap Download APK and, when it finishes, open the file.
2. If Android says apps from this source are not allowed, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source for the browser and go back.
3. Samsung: if tapping install does nothing, turn off Auto Blocker in Settings → Security and privacy → Auto Blocker, install, then turn it back on.
4. If Play Protect shows "Unverified app" or "Send app for a security scan?", tap More details and then Install anyway.
5. To update, install the new version over the old one: your chats and session stay. From 1.7 on, the app tells you by itself when a new version is out.

Version 1.9 - this time only: the app is now signed with the official Alphabitx key. To install 1.9 you must uninstall the old version first and then sign in again. Before uninstalling, turn on key backup in Settings → Encryption so you keep access to your old messages. Later updates install over the previous one again.

Why the warning? The app is not on Google Play yet, so Android always warns when an app from outside the store is installed. The warning does not mean the app has a virus. Only download it from this page and, if you like, check the file's SHA-256.

1. Click Download installer and open the .msi file.
2. If "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen) appears, click More info and then Run anyway.
3. The app installs and appears in the Start menu as Alphabitx. New versions install over the old one, and from 1.12.27 on the app tells you by itself when a new one is out.

Why the warning? Windows shows it for installers that are not yet signed with a commercial code-signing certificate. The warning does not mean the program has a virus.

Check the file is the original: in PowerShell, in your Downloads folder, run Get-FileHash ".\file-name.msi" -Algorithm SHA256. The result must match the SHA-256 shown here.
